John Lewis Interview
I'm 17 and I've applied for two jobs at John Lewis: Catering Assistant and Selling Assistant (Fashion), I applied for two because I'm beyond desperate for a little cash. I've never had a proper job before or been to an interview, I've just worked for family which obviously requires no interview.
I wanted to know what the interview is like and what will be required of me? I've heard there is a group assessment where I stand in front of a group of 6 or so people and introduce myself? I'm not entirely sure, but this is daunting as hell!
I'm not actually that shy but in interview conditions I do get a bit lost...
Also I'm a girl, and I'm not too sure what to wear there. -
Re: John Lewis Interview
Well I cant tell you what to wear, but group interviews can be tricky, you have to stay confident, even if you are not feeling it. Remember that in your role you will be expected to have certian strengths (freindly, helpful etc..) so try to demonstrate these qualities.
Also...do not appear desperate, even if your on your last penny...acting desperate is not a good tactic.
Good luck! -
Re: John Lewis Interview
Be yourself, they're going to be looking for someone who they're actually happy to work with, as well as having the right skills and attributes to perform the job. If they assign you a group task, make sure you can demonstrate that you can work well in a team, as well as use your own initiative.
As for what to wear, I'd go formal, but fashionable e.g. a waist-high pencil skirt with a fashion print top.
