Is it worth over summer doing work for A2
Discussion for A-Level students and for those choosing their A-Level subjects.

Re: Is it worth over summer doing work for A2
I read through C3 over summer, but to be fair we had already covered so much of it by the time we broke up.
Remember that much of your time next year will be taken up with UCAS and writing your personal statement.
It's up to you. You don't have to do a great deal every day to finish.
I don't think its worth doing past papers though until a month or so before the exam.

Re: Is it worth over summer doing work for A2
I've already started
But I am taking everything all in my own stride. There's no need to rush.
I'm planning to resit S1 since I only got 54 UMS in that exam whereas I've achieved 80/70 UMS in C1 and C2. I've also started M1 and C3 as I've looked at the books and it looks pretty tricky.
The only thing is that after a while your revision will become stagnant so keep looking over the notes. -

Depends how well you do with self-teaching. I personally can't understand textbooks until my teachers have taught me the topic.
It depends, if you're doing exams which require insane amounts of memory, such as Psychology, then yes, if you look over things now, maybe make a few notes, it'll be easier to remember later. -
Re: Is it worth over summer doing work for A2how did you achieve 80 out of 70(Original post by HighwayUnicorn)

Re: Is it worth over summer doing work for A2Use m4ths and exam solutions for M1, they'll simplify things and teach different ways to do the same questions. Very useful.(Original post by HighwayUnicorn)

Re: Is it worth over summer doing work for A2Around 70-80 UMS marks for each of the C1 and C2 papers. I guess it doesn't really look clear(Original post by dongonaeatu)
how did you achieve 80 out of 70

Re: Is it worth over summer doing work for A2Seriously, do as much work as you can; A2 is really hard and the work is a lot; if you do the work in summer you'll have an amazing advantage; even an hour or two a day will add up and you'll go into A2 with a knowledge of the subjects even if it is vague.(Original post by dongonaeatu)
So over summer i have a lot of time off. Is it worth revising and getting books and doing past papers on the subjects i am doing?
e.g for maths look at c3 and c4 and d2, chemistry look at a2 unit etc
Go for it; and you won't be disappointed with the results!

Re: Is it worth over summer doing work for A2you said 80/70, how did you get more than 100%(Original post by HighwayUnicorn)

Re: Is it worth over summer doing work for A2Not a bad idea to start reading through books, making notes when you haven't got anything else to do.(Original post by dongonaeatu)

But do enjoy your summer too.....because it is going to be a stressfull ass year after lol. So maybe just plan it out over the summer, that I want to do X hours a week (don't be over the top) but other than that, don't do anything school related. -
Re: Is it worth over summer doing work for A2
I'll be honest with you, I thought this is going to be really helpful but it wasn't. I was tired and felt like I had to work but you really don't. You need to give yourself a break to recover aswell, so unless your doing a few bits here and there in the week, that's good but please do not repeat my mistake and overdo it, I got so sick of it and just dropped it altogether. It wasn't worth doing work over the summer, except for Maths.
