How do you know about concerts?
So I only seem to hear about concerts AFTER all the tickets have been sold.. I wanted to go to Coldplay but knew nothing about the ticket release date or anything. How does everyone seem to hear about them!? I'm not prepared to check their websites every day and ticket master only seems to give very short notice before they start selling tickets? Could anyone give me some tips please as I always seem to miss all the good gigs!

    Usually Twitter is my source....
Orrrrr, sign up to the mailing list of your favourite bands and they'll email you with details before tickets go on sale.

I check the NME site and usually find out about most gigs and tours that way. Sometimes I get the news through Facebook and I occasionally have a check on local venue websites to see if they've got anyone I would be interested in...

I subscribe to the mailing lists of my favourite artists, for example with Kanye West and Jay Z they emailed about the tour, and they gave me a link to get tickets a day early, come to think of it I think I got tickets a day early for Cee Lo Green as well.

I also subscribe to NME on google reader (RSS) and check it everyday to see if anyone has announced any tours.

Twitter, music websites, the band's actual website, word of mouth, or just checking the venue to see if there's anyone I want to see

Get the 'Bandsintown' app on Facebook if you have it. Basically looks at all the artists you've liked on your profile and will tell you if they have any upcoming gigs in your hometown or current location.

It's especially handy when you like smaller artists which aren't promoted too much.
