    linked statements? What d'you mean?

Agreed, an example would be great!
ugh linked statements, my teacher's always going on about them! Ok, an example is : The earthquake led to the destruction of 120 quays, damaging ecosystems which therefore damaged the economy through the tourism sector. << That wasn't a particularly good example, but it basically means you have to say how one thing leads to another

    The Restless Earth
    Coastal Processes
Rocks, Resources and Scenary for me.

Revision is going well, just the case study information is quite difficult to revise all the KEY details. Predicted a B and hopefully will get so

For extreme weather do you only need one case study? (eg hurricane katrina)?

For the tropical storms case study you need one in a rich and poor part of the world. Katrina covers the rich part of the world, I did cyclone nargis for the poor part of the world.

For an 8 mark question, how many points do you do?

My teacher said 4, then fully explain them. That doesn't really make any sense because to get full marks, from what I've seen on the mark scheme there is a lot more than 4 points. And then my teacher said for the paragraph he wrote if someone wrote that they'd get the full marks. Well, that definitely doesn't make sense, because in the mark scheme it says even a perfect answer doesn't equal full marks!

So, how many points is it for an 8 mark question?

    Thanks.

I don't think anyone on this thread will be doing Specification B because this thread is only for Specification A, also I just had a quick look at one of the papers and they are very different, although some things in this thread will still apply.

    Best of luck.

    Same topics
I've done pretty much all the revision for Rocks and Scenery and Restless Earth, just got Coasts to go now! And I need to go over the case studies too.
Waht do you think will come up for Rocks and Scenery/Coasts?

To be honest, I don't think there is a certain number, I just write the answer in as much detail as possible and include all the points. Make sure you don't exceed 10 minutes in an 8 marker though, or else you'll run out of time at the end. Been there done that in my last science exam, missed out about 1/4 of questions due to poor time management

Hiya! I'm doing The Restless Earth, Water on Land and The Coastal Zone. Does anyone know what appeared on the January 2012 paper for The Restless Earth? Can't seem to find it on the AQA website.
    January 2012?
The most recent geography exam of your description was last June 2011.
You will find that the past papers for June 2011 and June 2010 are on the AQA website. Click on subjects, then geography, then past papers gcse specification a.
    Good luck

Do we need to know Yellowstone as a case study for super volcano? It's not in the revision guide but it's in the textbook

    Yes.
It was kind of on last year's paper though so I wouldn't learn it if I were you.
