Have the Olympics become too commercialised?
I'm thinking of doing this topic for a discursive essay. Two questions -
1) Do you think this is a good topic?
2) What are your opinions/points for and against the topic?
By becoming 'too commercialised', I mean that sponsorship, branding etc has gone too far and is detracting from the main event and what it's supposed to be about.
Thanks!

Re: Have the Olympics become too commercialised?1) It'd be a short essay, or a very one-sided rant.(Original post by cheesejug)

2) McDonald's and CocaCola, together the antithesis of athleticism, are sponsoring the Olympics. Essay done

Re: Have the Olympics become too commercialised?
Welcome to London, City of Beer! Enjoy wonderful England, the traditional home of real ale*.
*please note, no real ale will be available within any Olympic venue or a 2 mile radius of one because of an exclusivity deal signed within Heineken International Corporation. In fact, despite there being over 130 independent breweries within 30 miles of the venue, not one single UK brewed beer will be available at all. Instead Heineken's unique brand of dutch horsepiss will be available at an extremely reasonable £7 a pint.
