Well i think the gender inequality in our society is disgusting and more should be done to combat it.

it's only a matter of time :bebored:
Oh **** you found me out!!!

TBH I think that picture is accurate of many males who call thenselves 'feminists.' Good find.

By NO MEANS am I a feminist or ever have been.

But it seems to me there is definitely a double standard with regard to the labels of men and women who have multiple sexual partners. 99.99% of us like sex, regardless of gender - yet in our society, guys are praised for having multiple sexual partners while women who are similar are derided and labelled with the derogatory term: 'slut' or 'easy.' It strikes me as quite unfair

Why is this? Thoughts and opinions?

Apologies if a thread like this has already been made.
Girls tend to put a value on their sexual encounters, whereas guys tend not to. Thus a girl is easy compared to other girls if she sleeps around, and a guy is praised for being above that value judgement of numerous girls. If the majority of girls were openly, willingly and happily promiscuous, apart from their parents going nuts, you'd see a collapse in the use of 'slut' and 'easy'

I think this opinion is always going to form naturally because girls seem to be naturally more attracted to guys who have a lot of 'experience' whereas, as a guy if somebody says a girl has seen a lot of action then you would probably put off

nobody decides it it's just the manifestation of a natural reaction. No conspiracy and no liability to change.

I've always thought both genders that sleep around are sluts, so yay for equality!

I've asked my fiancee this before. While men are meant to be brutish with less care, a "lady" must have more sense in herself to avoid brutish men...

It's something like that... Yes it is a double standard... And i would like more insight to this

I think most people forget just how much contraception has changed sex. Prior to contraception a woman having sex with multiple partners would have been an disaster, for obvious reasons.

I think this attitude of women who have multiple partners being "sluts" is just a relic from a time before contraception.
Wow, just when you least expect it, an insightful comment in a thread like this!

I'd never thought of it that way before.

Tbh being known as a player isn't a good thing, as then it would be harder to try and get into a proper relationship with a girl.

It takes a good lockpicker to pick many locks, but it's a rubbish lock that is opened by many lockpickers.
That's been done roughly a million times now.

Was just about to type a variant of this very maxim

'A key that opens many locks is a master key but a lock that is opened by many keys is a shi*ty lock'

In evolutionary terms, men can engage in casual sex because it is not as costly for them in terms of investment of resources - all they need to contribute is their fertility and can opt-out of parenthood if they want to.

But women have an obligatory biological investment i.e. they have to spend 9 months pregnant and then years of caring after birth.

As a result, it is less costly for men to go round sleeping with many women (due to their contribution) whereas women need to be very selective with their sexual partners to avoid investing time into offspring that are of poor quality.

I think this is why women who sleep around are looked down upon in society as they should be choosy about partners whereas men are evolutionarily pressured to have many children with many partners in order to survive.

That's just my take on it, A-level psychology coming in useful

How easy is it for a guy to seduce a woman?

Now how easy is it for a girl to get a guy into bed?

    There is your answer.

1st point= Women control the flow of sex, therefore it is harder for males to have sex with women than it is for women to have sex with men.
2nd point= Men can have sex multiple times without hindrance or risk. Whereas women can get pregnant potentially the first time they have sex and therefore it's seen as greater risk for women with little to 0 risk for males.
3rd point= Biological differences reinforced into societal norms and attitudes. Men are programmed to have sex with multiple mates. Women are programmed to find a suitable, strong healthy mate and have children. Women who deviate from this are seen as sluts, whereas males are rewarded by fulfilling their biological destiny.
