Not quite sure, but i'm really interested to see what the general idea is. Could you set up a poll?

Re: Which political party do you support (if any) and why?I also support the Liberal Democrats, but would much rather support individual candidates if they were able to exist in our elections.(Original post by jumpingjesusholycow)
The Liberal Democrats.
I was a Liberal Democrat before the 2010 election and I was a Liberal Democrat after the election. -

If I had a gun to my head, I'd say Labour, although I've been unimpressed by them recently.
The biggest mistake that party did was not to get fully behind Mr Brown, he might not have been as charismatic as Tony Blair was, but in the face of crisis, he did the right things - I don't think it's an overstatement at all to say that he saved the world. He was the first leader to recognise the fact that the banks needed recapitalization, and thanks to his policies, got the UK economy growing in the midst of the crisis thanks to the stimulus plan he introduced. Not to forget, he was a leading figure in the global stimulus plan proposed at the G20. -
Re: Which political party do you support (if any) and why?How profound. Because, of course, the other main parties are all in favour of a centrally planned economy, and are against business, and they would all rather we followed isolationist policies.(Original post by khaiser turian)
Conservative - I believe in the individual worth of people. I would rather Free trade and business than nationalised corporations
Oh no, wait, they aren't like that all. -
Re: Which political party do you support (if any) and why?You mean that absolute tit that thought he'd "ended boom and bust" just before the largest economic downturn since the Great Depression?(Original post by FDR)

Re: Which political party do you support (if any) and why?His style of leadership was atrocious. I can't deny that his decision to bail out the banks was a bold and right thing to do, but from then on in he was a fairly poor leader. He failed to unite his party, he micromanaged every detail of government, he used poor political tricks to engage with the electorate (appointing Alan Sugar as business Tsar?) - not to mention his paranoia about how everybody was out to get him and the way he appointed a lot of young ministers with no experience just to make him appeal to the young (Jack Straw was his only minister over the age of 60 when he formed his first government).(Original post by FDR)

I get that information from the diary of former Labour MP Chris Mullin, by the way. -
Re: Which political party do you support (if any) and why?
**** knows, I'm probably in a rare position of liking aspects of all three major parties. I like the Conservatives economic policy but their social policy has something to be desired. I like the broad ideological beliefs of the Lib Dems, especially with regard to civil liberties (which the other two major parties show nothing but contempt for) but they strike me as inexperienced and seem to come up with poor ideas even after two years in office (with the exception of Danny Alexander who I am told is an exceptionally competent minister, even if he is a smug politican). Needless to say, I once supported Labour and looking back, I would have happily voted for New Labour in '97, '01, and '05. Recently however they've become useless - they have nothing constructive to offer politics right now, they have no clear ideological direction and no policies. I shall reserve judgment until the forthcoming election, but if an election was held today I would not vote for the Labour Party.
