    PGCE Primary - Secondary
New to this so not sure if I'm posting in the correct place!

    Anyways...

Ive recently been trying to get on a PE PGCE but I've been struggling to gain a place on one.

However I know I've got a better chance of getting on a primary PGCE due to being told by old lectures the university I attended like to recruit the own students first (my uni didn't do secondary PGCE)

I was wondering whether the was any type of short course available to primary teachers wanting to swap to secondary or vice versa???

    Thanks in advance people!

Hope I can be of help.

You can switch from primary to secondary but not secondary to pirmary.

To switch from primary to secondary you can do a short course of about a year and then find a secondary school.

To switch from secondary to primary is far more complex you will need to do a primary PGCE if you have not already then show your abilities to work with primary-aged children.

    Good luck.
