What laptop to get, law student going to uni
Hey all,
just wondering what laptop/type of laptop I should get
I'm going to enter uni this september and study law - any specific laptop for that?
people say macbook, others say windows, I dont care about price, what do you think would be good?
Ideally I want something thin/lightLast edited by y-y; 06-06-2012 at 12:22. -
Re: What laptop to get, law student going to uni
From what I've heard from my friends at uni doing law, it doesn't really involve anything intensive, so it really is a matter of preference, you could spend under £350 on a basic Windows machine with a Core i3 processor or you could spend well over double that on a MacBook Air or other ultrabook. It really depends on how much you want to spend and what else you'll be doing with it?

Re: What laptop to get, law student going to uniThen it's just a case of how much you value getting a smaller, lighter laptop. How much do you want to spend?(Original post by y-y)
I don't do much hardcore stuff, just browse the internet, watch movies, etc etc
but thanks for your post -

Re: What laptop to get, law student going to uniIf you can wait a couple of weeks, there's a slew of new ultrabooks coming out with Intel's brand new processors, including an update to the MacBook Air line, which would be my suggestion. In terms of Windows machines, look at the Dell XPS 13 and Asus Zenbook lines. However a shortcoming of ultrabooks is that they don't have optical drives and typically only have solid state storage, which isn't ideal if you want to store an extremely large amount of files. If these are things you want, look at the Dell XPS 15Z.(Original post by y-y)
