And people wonder why women are such second class citizens in islamic countries who can be murdered at will for refusal to obey?
The frightening thing is that muslims really believe the quran is word for word the message directly from God. So unlike christians who admit that most of the bible is not to be taken literally, muslims take every last sentence in the quran 100% seriously.

He wasn't mentally ill. It's just an excuse. Decapitation is a very common form of killing in islamic countries. It's no surprise muslims do it in the west as well.
His yelling of allah akbar is meant to imply that allah approves of his execution of his wife who wasn't obeying him.
A woman is an object in islamic culture. A woman who doesn't obey must be decapitated. It's in the islamic scriptures.

I personally do not even like Islam that much, but its ridiculous to use this cheap propaganda to further your own hatred of a religion. Nothing in Islam states one should behead his wife under any circumstances. This should not be treated as a religious affair but purely as a criminal case.
