To add to the above, the industrial revolution was well under way in Britain decades before the Regency.

As someone else said, my interests tend to be geographical. In any case, I voted for classical.

I meant to give us the option to choose multiples but I didn't click on it, so I had to choose between Dark Age and Medieval! Almost killed me.
Shoulda put a 'Late Medieval' option I like 1250-1500

Err, I think you've gotten your definition and date ranges mixed up.

The Regency very much comes under the Modern period of study!

'Tis true, but if the only options I gave were Ancient, Middle Ages and Modern, there wouldn't be much to talk about... My classification was supposed to make it as easy as possible for people to establish which period they like and I think I achieved my goal pretty successfully.

This. While there is no definite cut-off point for the 'early modern' period, a lot of people would consider the French Revolution the end of this period, or even the American Revolution, as the start of a new period when the so-called 'new world' struck out on its own.

And 'Renaissance' can be argued to have begun in the fourteenth century and largely petered out by the beginning of the seventeenth century (except, arguably, in England which experienced its cultural 'renaissance' later than many places).

I've always been most interested in post-WWII history, particularly the Cold War and its aftermath.

More recently I've become interested in civil wars, particularly African civil wars.

Outside of that I think the Weimar period, American Civil War and later Roman Empire are all fascinating as well.

As a Zoologist, and avid follower of all news of human evolution, I had to vote Pre-history. I find the Paleolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic periods great to study, mainly because there is so much we still don't know. Of course I'm only refering to human history here, the Cambrian, Permian...ext. era's shouldn't be forgotten.

Ancient and Classical history also interest me greatly. Kemet's Old, Middle and New Kingdoms is a particular fasination of mine. Dark age Europe is also interesting.
