Closed an excel document by accident...any way to get it back?
Was working on some monthly spreadsheets and had a few open. Was adding to a saved copy but then closed the document and didn't save by accident thinking it was a different spreadsheet. Know this is a long shot but any way to get it back?

Re: Closed an excel document by accident...any way to get it back? Not likely, I'm afraid.(Original post by Favourite Worst Nightmare)

Re: Closed an excel document by accident...any way to get it back? But he closed it and chose don't save - so I believe any temporary save they have gets deleted then.(Original post by G8D)
Usually if you open Word back up it notifies you that you have an unsaved copy of a file and asks you if you want to recover it. -

I recommend you start using Google Docs with Googles cloud storage Google drive, it will save it to the cloud whenever you make any changes and it automatically keeps backups of previous versions so you will never lose work

Re: Closed an excel document by accident...any way to get it back? You have clearly never used Google docs before then(Original post by Mad Vlad)
Unless you click "No" when it asks you whether you want to save changes...
It notices anything you type and automatically saves. I encourage every student to use Google Docs with Google Drive, it is so much better than using Microsoft Word. It also saves it in doc and docx format or any format you want so you can open it in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc
edit: I created this for you, I simply opened my timetable spreadsheet and took the first screenshot which shows when it was last edited (You can add other people into your work so it shows if they have edited anything and you can revert those changes) I then typed test into an empty cell so it said "Saving" at the top which is where I took another screenshot, I then deleted the words "test" and it saved again, finally I reopened the spreadsheet and it said Last edited a few seconds ago.
