    Here's hoping ND wins

If ND wins the euro will no doubt collapse. They'll accept the bailout and change nothing. They'll be in dangerous levels of debt once again in 6 months, keep it quiet and then it'll come out that it's of an unsustainable amount leading to the collapse.

Basically it's a no-win situation. We can either take the hit now, or delay it for a bit allowing markets to recover, but when it does hit, it'll hit harder and be at a time when Spain will probably need a bail out.

I just hope Greece increase their retirement age from 50 (I heard it was that but not sure).

I don't know who I want to win now, but if we delay it, my LLOY stocks will increase now enough for me to make a nice profit. Hmmmm.

I'm rooting for the commies. Will be interesting to see how all this turns out.

I think the Euro is pretty unsustainable. Even if the political will could be found in Germany for a very long term bailout of multiple countries, the control mechanisms to make this sustainable would take years, and many referenda, to create. By which time the Eurozone would be even further down the pan.

A bit of fairly interesting analysis here:

I don't know what you mean by once and for all. Recessions are an ever-present feature of our lives, and we will suffer the same euro crisis a few years from now if they manage to patch things up this time. The politicians are just weeping the dirt under the rug for a next generation to uncover.

They need to reconstruct the 'scaffolding' of the euro. Its clear this debt wont be cleared anytime remotely soon. New legislations need to be prepped etc.

obviously they cant stop recessions :0 but these are needed to adjust economic equilibria (demand pull inflation etc)

I need to stop making irrational decisions as they probably aren't going to pay off all the time. Although from my point of view my investment in BP looks to have been a good one, well for today anyway.
