I've tried reporting it but nothing's happened so far. I keep getting the same message: Hi, *user* saw your profile on The Student Room, and would like to be your new friend, contact them at *email address.* I've deleted about 5 or so messages like that in the past hour but they keep appearing onto my profile. Help?

Don't delete them, just report them. The mods will remove them and ban the spammers.

Cheers for flagging this up. I'll take a look and make sure you don't get spammed.

If it happens again, next to the visitor message can you select the 'Report' link and enter a little message. This will then go through to one of our moderators who will be able to deal with them.

It could take a few hours or so until its dealt with, depending on when a mod is on. You can see here what the mod has to say about it.

Try not to delete your visitor message as it could not show up to the mods.

There's no harm in deleting the messages as mods will still have access to them
