Re: Whats the most cash youve ever physically held in your hand?
2 bundles of £10,000 of £20 notes (so £20,000) - my mum owns a post office, so I was helping her put the money in the safe at the back

Other than that, when I used to volunteer at my local charity shop, I had to go and deposit ~ £2,500 of cash / some coin bags into the bank account - this only happened once though, because we were very short-staffed, so someone had to stay in the shop

In my case it was when my parents sold their shop and were walking to the bank. Looking back it seems odd that cash was involved.
yeh does seem strange that they sell their shop for cash
did their "shop" sell lots of drugs?

In the region of £18,000 - £20,000; no idea how much exactly.
I worked for a bookmakers shortly before I started university, and the manager was one of those super lethargic, lackadaisical nonces. Anyway, every few months he'd forget to take the week's cash to the post office (which was, quite literally ten seconds from the building), and we had to make a mad dash for the bank with huge amounts of money. He had more than me, so we were probably transporting anything from 40 to 50k down the street.

Re: Whats the most cash youve ever physically held in your hand?
£20 000, I was the work experience girl in Barclays and I had to unscrumple the money to put it through the money counter machine.. so tedious, definitely took the excitement out of it!
Shame on those people who scrumple £50 notes anyway :P -

Re: Whats the most cash youve ever physically held in your hand?
I did some work experience in a bank when I was 15 and they trusted me way too much with the money. I was left alone in a room full of boxes containing thousands upon thousands of pounds and asked to count it. When I left for my lunch break they didn't even search me
They showed me the underground vaults one day, which was pretty cool. Felt like I was in Gringotts diden'I
My Mum owns a Tearoom and sometimes forgets to go to the bank. At any given time there can be up to 3 grand in her handbag. I have told her that this is bad. -

Around £550 in my wallet. As when I was younger, saving money seemed like such a productive thing to do. However, now I have difficulties saving a mere £100..
