and btw that's not what he said, the article is paraphrasing. He said:

“Muslims that arrive here do not even believe that this country belongs to us, to the white man.”

“I will continue the struggle until the end of my term, with no compromises,” Yishai continued, stating that he would use “all the tools to expel the foreigners, until not one infiltrator remains.”

I'll play devils advocate by saying he has a point. Although his statement seems a bit blunt (possibly down to translation) it's not a secret that Israel is despised by a large chunk of the Islamic world and there are a large number of Islamic governments and groups that actively want to hurt Israel and the people living there who the interior minister has the job of protecting. It would be a very dumb move to let immigrants who openly want to harm your country and its people stay.

So you're saying it's ok to treat all immigrants in Israel as second class, even sub-human people in order to protect Israel from whatever they think they need protecting from?

There are many types of Jews - the majority are either eastern european descent, or spanish/Portuguese, or middle eastern.

I'm interested to know what kind of 'Jewish press' you're reading.

And this is the STATE of Israel, not the Jews as a whole. State including Muslims and Christians as well as Jews in government, being a democracy.

Aren't all those groups white?( middle eastern maybe not. ) I think the realities of non white immigration and how it is negatively affecting Jewish communities all over the world is changing attitudes.


Besides, Jews are seen as white by all Non-whites -- its like in the past Irish and Italians etc were not considered white, but now, they are.

No, we really are not all white. There is also a large proportion of Ethiopian Jews. And like I said, Jews of middle eastern descent. We may be considered a 'white' nation, but we certainly aren't.

Jews treat other people like crap then expect to be treated like the chosen people does not work that way. Iraq and Libya Jewish Americans greed for oil. The Jewish lobby in America don't care about Syria why no oil.I hate Israel so much

All immigrants? No one has said Israel will be punishing or treating people who legally immigrate there as second class, they will be introducing harsher punishments for non citizens who wish to study or work in Israel and then go on to break the law.

The security threat is more than real, Israel has a large number of enemies and many of them are well funded so opening the flood gates especially considering their geographical location is practically shooting yourself in the foot. The harsher punishments will act as a deterrent to prevent illegal immigrants attempting to cross the border.

I'm having a little trouble deciphering your message. Basically you hate Israel because of the trouble going on in Syria and because America are not buying Syrian oil? Very confused.

Firstly, you can hardly call the BBC Jewish press. But if you're going to be reading highly biased material, I can't expect you to see any other side.

Secondly, Jews do not treat other people like crap. People are treated badly in places like North Korea, Zimbabwe, Afghanistan, all places where people have no liberty, a failing economy and terrible leaders. Israel is a democracy and has one of the fastest growing economies in the world.

Oh, and please remember this is not a thread about why you hate Jews. This is a thread about the State of Israel, where Jews, Christians and Muslims alike are represented in government. Your ignorance is astonishing.

The harsher punishments for non-citizens don't seem very fair or democratic to me. It's another example of Israel discriminating against non-Jews. And I'm not supporting mass immigration into Israel I'm just saying that it's not right that a non citizen may be jailed or deported for minor crimes where a citizen of Israel wouldn't. And who are these well funded enemies? We all know America and Europe back Israel and I don't think Russia has any interest in backing the Arab states anymore.

it's ironic by the fact that Jew's people went through the holocaust and yet treat people like crap. many living in Israel are Jews and some are Zionist.

The thing that you all seem to be forgetting is that this applies to ILLEGAL immigrants. The law is in place, and there are consequences to breaching it. If someone chooses to break the law of a country, then they must face the consequences.
