Don't know what to study.. :/
I've just completed my AS level. We are planning on starting personal statements before we break up for summer. I am clueless about what I want to study at university and there's people who know exactly what they want to do and become..
At first I wanted to become a primary school teacher but then Im not sure, then I was thinking Economics or business and management or something?
Is anyone else in the same situation?
Btw, my subjects are maths, economics, biology and ICT.
What shall I do - How do I decide?
Please help!

Re: Don't know what to study.. :/
Don't rush the decision, you'll regret it if you end up in something you do not enjoy. Teachers are going to start nagging you to do your statement and UCAS, but ultimately if you do not feel ready, don't let them pressurise you!
I had NO IDEA what I wanted to do, until a few weeks before the deadline. Luckily I found a course that really suits me and so I was happy to go ahead and do it. Unless you feel that kind of Eureka moment when you find a course, don't do it.
You can always take a year out, do some work experience, get a job, travel, etc. I kind of wished I had kept my plan of a year out to do Art Foundation Course before uni - so if you are looking to get any extra qualifications out the way my advice is take a year out before uni!
You mentioned you might have an interest in Business - if you are good at it and enjoy it is is definitely worth looking into. Business courses have great career prospects and they are so broad, can be applied to many many different job opportunities. After all everything relates to business in some way! I recommend checking out Aston Business School in Birmingham - one of the best business unis out there.
Hope this helps.... -

Yes i was thinking Business because of exactly what you said - everything relates to business in some way and it will offer many job opportunities. However, I do not have a gcse or A-level in business studies? Will this be a problem? Thanks again!!

Yeah, if you look at figures relating to graduate employment, the highest tend to be for business-related degrees - especially if you get a degree from a uni with a good reputation for producing good business graduates!
It's not a problem, when I was looking at course I didn't see any that required a business course to have been studied. Obviously it helps to have a grounding in the subject, but it shouldn't hold you back as they will cover everything anyway! I'd suggest you go to open days, talk to business students, read all the course info etc really carefully to get an idea of what would be involved. Might also be an idea to talk to the business teachers at your school.
Having A-Levels in Maths and Economics will really help you - Economics is really closely linked to Business of course and Maths will help too, for the calculations you need to do in Business. It definitely helps to have a maths-mindset as profit margins and numbers are a key point of focus for business!
