Greek Summer School at Bryanston 2012
    Hi everyone,

Would just like to know who will be going to this year's Greek Summer school at Bryanston? Who will be in the intermediate group?

Also, anyone who has been before please share your experiences, I would like to know what it's all like, and i'm pretty nervous!

    Thanks

I've been before... twice . No need to be nervous at all. Sure you will be set a lot of work but you sign up in full awareness of that, and otherwise it's pretty fun. There are loads of sports, plays, orchestra's, bacchic orgies etc... to get involved in and at no point can i say that I was bored. You'll have a good time, don't worry. Everyone is really nice and there is no need to be anyone but yourself whilst there.

    sounds so cool!

Right now at school there's literally no one like me with such an interest for classics, I don't know whether that was the same for you, but did you find it was way easier to relate to everyone? If so, that's probably one of the things i'm most looking forward to!

To be honest, everyone there has voluntarily chosen to give up two weeks of their summer to have intensive Greek lessons, everyone relates to everyone there and most if not all people there genuinely enjoy Classics. You'll have a good time.

They tell you the theme one or two days before so you can go to town and take advantage of the fancy dress shop. I can't think of anything else to say, the best way to find out is to go, and you are about to in the next month or so.

    that's the hard bit!
once you've got the alphabet you can just liken it to latin, and it turns out to be far simpler than latin anyway :P (wait, you do latin right?!)

Yeah I do Latin . Ooh well I've yet to get the hang of it but hoping I'll be able to do Greek well. I'm really excited to finally learn it haha.

I'm going in the beginners' group. I'm slightly apprehensive; I've heard Byranston is fairly savage as far as work load is concerned .
