Re: What will my mark go up to...?
If my illness strikes again. Say if I get 180 UMS overall for French. And I have a mytgating circumstance will I get 5% of 180 added on? 185? Or just 5% onto the exams, not the c/w.

I've ran out of possible ratings for today. You WILL be getting one tomorrow!

I personally am not certain as to the percentage extra you get, but as someone has just demonstrated, just multiply the mark you have by the proposed percentage increase, and you should be along the right track.
e.g 13x 1.05 = 13.65, most probably rounded to 14/40 total.

Mature. And to clarify, I'm talking about the negging.

It's a mock, and you still got a U at the end of the added marks.

I'm sorry, but come on. He basically made a thread to find 5% of a number.. -

Re: What will my mark go up to...?It would go up by 1 mark. 14/40.(Original post by isaacworthington)
I scored 13/40 on my GCSE French - Higher (AQA) mock I did last week, but I was very ill on the day and couldn't concentrate. I told my teacher and she said she'd increase it by 5%, I will find out Monday - but what would 5% be?
15/40?
But it is a mock; it doesn't really matter what grade you get. -
Re: What will my mark go up to...?Just curious, read my above post - not the sarcastic one - the one at the top.(Original post by ThatPerson)

Re: What will my mark go up to...?I think perhaps you should be directing these questions to your teacher. However, adding 5% to your mark is not the same as adding five marks to your UMS grade. I would expect they'd calculate the extra 5% onto the raw mark out of 40, before converting it to UMS.(Original post by isaacworthington)

You already did - and yours don't do any damage anyway I'm afraid!

Re: What will my mark go up to...?Charlie, as much as I ordain your mathematical proficiency, Isaac is an irremediably tenuous mathematician. On another note, what University do you aspire to study Maths at?(Original post by CharlieBoardman)

You're obviously not clued up on the reputation system then...! Anyway, I'm not going to sit here and argue with you about reputation, it doesn't interest me!

I wouldn't like to go off topic - that is irrelevant to this thread! I see you are 16 from your profile, why don't you pop into the Year 11 thread where we can talk without disturbing this thread?

Re: What will my mark go up to...?I hope your spelling on here isn't representative of what you're capable of in an English exam or no amount of mitigating circumstances can help you.(Original post by isaacworthington)
