    quick question
I am not 16 but am in year 11. Everything I read says that you can work on the last friday of June providing you are 16 by the end of august.(which i am)But how can I get a job without a national insurance card ?

You usually get sent it before your 16th birthday. I think mine came around 2 weeks before I turned 16.

If the application form asks for the NI number I would leave it blank and explain if you get an interview. Mine came in the October and my birthday is in the December. Although it was the same time I opened a bank account, not sure if the two were related or just a coincidence.
