I'm totally for child free flights. Its not exactly the same but i was on a crowded bus and this little kid ran up and jumped on my lap and bit my hand...and there was no adult around. I could have got rabies or something

LOL, I'm lying, I'm lying, quickly, stop me before it gets out of hand and ruins the whole thread!! Rude or what.

In fact on Virgin Upper Class there was a baby, cried non-stop, literally every single minute for hours and hours. Of course the cabin staff did everything they could think of but the noise went right through everything. It was draining.

Then on Lufthansa First with my parents a few years ago there was a couple with two children about 5/7 and they ran about constantly, made loud noises, shrieking, etc. The staff did a bit but they didn't get too heavy, I got the impression the family were some kind of senior Lufthansa staff people.

I've not seen young children LOADS of times on business/first, just saying it has happened. There are also lots of well-behaved children flying to be fair.

Moral of the story - BA Club World or First

Haha, I was just mocking the previous poster for accusing me of lying. Of course if I am offered a first class flight on BA to somewhere nice I won't turn it down and will feel very appreciative and privileged.

If you told the parent that you had some sort of contagious blood disease like AIDS or hepatitis, they would definitely ensure that you were the last person that child bit.

If you're in a public place, make a big fuss about it, so the parent is aware that everyone knows that they seriously screwed up by allowing their kid to bite someone who has something like that.

this is age discrimination, and discrimination is illegal
But you need to be 18 to get into a bar. Or 16 -18 to work for most.companys. You need to be over 17 to study medicine and you must be over the age of 60 to go free on a bus.
All these things are age discriminatory. This is the world

aw that would really scare the sh*t out of the parent and i might have done if i even saw the parent. that's the trouble, the kid just moved away and i never saw an adult with them.

I find it less annoying if the parents are actually trying to keep them quiet.

Whilst we're making everyhing child free, lets go ahead and make child free playgrounds.

I agree with the idea of grouping families together on flights, especially on those big planes with lots of seating sections. But then on the other hand if there are lots of babies together then if one starts crying the others will all start.

I know of some parents who take sleeping pills to knock themselves out for a flight and just let their kids do whatever. Inconsiderate much?
I was on a daytime flight to NY and the person in front of me and the person in the aisle seat in front of me (I was in one of the middle two in a bank of four) had put their seat backs right down, it was a total nightmare trying to get out to go to the loo - and I'm one of those people who has to go to the loo every half an hour on planes, but because of that I always get aisle seats.
When I was a toddler and on planes I used to (apparently, I obviously don't remember) walk up and down the aisle pulling my caterpillar thing along, but I did so quietly.

It's OK, I was just teasing you - of course, it's lovely for you if you get to fly in luxury everywhere. Dad got an international job?

Yes, he flies a lot and there are loads of frequent flyer points to use on lucky us, his devoted family.
