Struggling with subject choice (BA Degree)
This isn't strictly about being a mature student, but being slightly older than the average university applicant definitely seems to be making the decision of what subject to focus on even more difficult. When I was at school I had a lot of guidance from teachers (not all of it helpful) but now I'm making decisions by myself and, while that's empowering in one way, I also have no idea what to study.

I originally began my studies in Education with English at Cambridge, but had to leave due to illness. While there I had a mini personal crisis where I started questioning my reasons for going to university, and I felt as though the subject I was studying wasn't really for me. I was going to transfer to Theology, and that's still a subject that appeals to me on one level. I'm so confused though. My A Levels were a mixture of subjects (economics, maths and English literature, along with religious studies and music) so that doesn't help me narrow my choices down-I loved everything I studied at sixth form, and I continue to enjoy dabbling in a variety of subjects to this day.

I struggle to find something that I can sit down and write a personal statement about from beginning to end and feel as though I'm being 100% enthusiastic about it (apart from, ironically, my original subject of education). Basically the point of me writing all this, is to ask whether anyone else has been in my position and what did you do to help yourself find out what you wanted to study. I know I want to study, I know I'll be committed to whatever I end up studying, I just feel confused and lost as to what I should be focussing on. I don't know whether it's because I'm over-thinking things or because I'm scared of leaving certain subjects behind in favour of specialising in one or two.

Sorry for the long post that probably makes zero sense.
