Re: How many marks is A* in Edexcel maths? You don't need 80ums average at AS.(Original post by Annie2.1)
If your talking about A-level, you need an average of 80 UMS in AS and an average of 90 UMS in C3 and C4 -
Re: How many marks is A* in Edexcel maths?but you need to get an A overall anyways as normal right?(Original post by Mani94)
480UMS overall with a total of 180UMS across C3 and C4 (average of 90UMS in each paper).
So you could actually get 75UMS on average in every paper OTHER than C3 and C4, get 90s in those and still get your A*

Re: How many marks is A* in Edexcel maths?yep(Original post by Annie2.1)
Ohhh ok, so you can still have an average of 70 UMS in AS and still get an A* in Maths if you've got an average of 90 in C3 and C4 and an average of 80 overall.

Re: How many marks is A* in Edexcel maths?
It varies I guess, because the grade boundaries are dependent on how everyone who took the paper found it. Last year June you needed 162 out of 200 to get an A*, November 2010 you needed 170 out of 200 for an A* and June 2010 you needed 176 out of 200 for an A*. I'd say aim for roughly 88 marks in each paper. This is only applicable for the Linear Spec

How many marks would you have to get roughly per paper to get A*? And with the papers combined?
Thank you very much
EDIT: Sorry, I was talking about GCSE although thank you all for replying!
Did my exam last november got 53/60 which was an A* I suppose this year it will be around 55/60 marks because so many people got A* last year. GOOD LUCK!
