    Indeed it does.

But to be honest, how many people need a "tablet" A decent laptop would be suitable. Most people have a phone contact anyway. Get a decent phone on that and buy a decent laptop for 500 quid....

Ive not found a tablet that suits my needs in any way shape or form. Even for internet browsing and word processing. Let alone photoshop, 3D modelling programs. They are all just a bit tosh. If im going to have to spend 500 quid on a bit of technology i want it to do its task well. Not just about.
    Yeah well you are right.
Tablets simply don't satisfy any serious needs.
I can't imagine how a tablet could replace a laptop.
iPad is a nice toy but in reality it is just a huge iPhone and the most you can do is to play Angry birds.
However, this Padfone could replace a netbook. It is still more portable than any laptop you can for example take notes during classes with it.

I think it makes sense if you have a desktop PC,so you buy it for portable purposes.
With a keyboard and touchpad it can compete with netbooks.

It is certainly better than those ridiculous Chromebooks.

Try to google that Clamcase,it seems like a nice concept to me.
You bring your own Android phone and you have the same functions as Padfone( except tablet function which I do not need.)
I'd like to pair it with Samsung Galaxy S3

    Yes,I've seen this,but it's not for me.
    I wouldn't use it as a tablet,but mostly as a laptop.
Is nice if you want to have a tablet and a laptop in one device.
I don't actually need a tablet at all.

In my opinion,an ultrabook is a better solution than this Transformer book.
Of course,it depends on the price, but 14" model with discrete graphics will probably cost considerably more than ultrabook with the same specs.

I don't really see the point of getting Windows RT.
Existing applications won't work so I wouldn't like to be dependent to such an experiment.

With dual boot maybe, but ARM is for Android and that's my opinion.

Microsoft is going to have multiple fronts ij near future and Windows RT doesn't seem like optimistic one.
Windows 8 might have a bright future on mobile x86 devices since Intel is doing a good job developing mobile solutions.

The only advantage, in my opinion, of windows RT, would be the productivity side (office preinstalled). But I'll stick to android - just waiting for infinity release date!
Do you think dual boot will be available as an upgrade option?

There are satisfactory office programs for Android ,I wouldn't choose Windows only because of preinstalled things.

I have no idea about dual boot option.
My general opinion is that Windows has no perspective on ARM based devices,at least not in 1st generation of Windows RT devices

I use Kingsoft Office at the moment. It's much better than Thinkfree I got with my Galaxy S.
However,I only have a smartphone, not a tablet so needs are not the same. This satisfies me for now since it is very compact at easy to work with on a 4" screen.

And you get all options for free.
I think it's the best free office for Android.
    Give it a try.

    P.S.

Do you have keyboard dock for Padfone?

Its unlikely that you will get my price because i actually purchased it straight from taiwan and collected it. It was a pre order as well so they gave me a free battery and 16gb microsd.

Its not sold in uk or us. But an ebayer in taiwan is selling for about 1200usd shipping world wide
