Anyone know the best way to get into a counselling PhD, as in what is the best masters to do and experience to get?

Hi Navvius, not sure if I can be of any help but I just finished my masters in counselling at Staffs Uni.

This took me 3 years and I had to complete 150 supervised placement work with counselling clients, as well as taught hours at the university and assignments. The final year was a dissertation module which was 15,000 words.

I'm not sure if you can do a PhD straight from undergraduate although I could be wrong - but a masters is more demanding academically than an undergrad so it might give you more of a stepping stone onto a PhD.

Did you want to go into counselling as a career? Have you done any counselling courses previously?
