Ahhh, makes sense, you must have been extremely motivated to get through all that! We're being offered the chance to do Young Enterprise- I'd love to do it, did you enjoy it? Do you think it was worth the time you put in (a lot by the sounds of it!)?
I did enjoy YE; it was a lot of work mainly because I was Managing Director, and also we were selected to go to the European Trade Fair. But it was worth it in terms of doing something different - managing people, dealing with customers and the public, organising events, etc.

    Smooth did you resit then?
I considered resitting (it was my worst mark) but decided against it in the end because it was A2 and I didn't really need the marks to meet my offer.

Don't do it. It's a complete waste of time, trust me. I didn't do it, but the YE group became the laughing stock of the year seriously, it's got nothing to do with Economics - it's for Bus Studs people.
Woah, well done with your french results  And I'd guess for German too by the sounds of it!
It does sound more aimed at Business people but it sounds so fun, but I guess if it takes up so much time it would get pretty stressful. Was their idea bad or something!?

Sounds like you did a lot- must have been pretty impressive to go to the European Trade Fair too! Sounds enjoyable, I'd just be worried about the amount of time it takes up, hmmm...

It's possible, a lot of people at my school did it and managed fine. I took 5 (further maths being my extra as well) and hated it. I think that was largely because I grew to hate further maths (I only took it because I was good at maths at GCSE and took ad-maths, not because I was particularly interested in it) so I always was wishing I could just drop it and concentrate on my other a-levels which were more relevant to me. I don't think I would have had this problem if I had taken an extra a-level that I enjoyed, so as long as you enjoy further maths and are motivated you'll be fine.

I did 5 AS levels. It's really not worth it - it's possible to do, of course it is, but you have more work to do in less time than everybody else does! (Plus, it's more likely that at some of your exams will clash and that's just annoying).

And you get something like two frees a week. Well, I did anyway.

Gotta agree with you on that one, i actually did it this year, it coincided horribly with revision time, with constant-seeming trade fairs, especially with poor sales, along with speeches, and only taught me more about business that economics - it actually me less willing to "set up a business" in the future dare i say, - but of course i'm only speaking for myself, i'm sure there are other people who may love it

Biology? ahahaha...ha (just funny how much effort it seems to be )

Hey I do those subjects, plus German, and it's just fine - I'm expecting straight As, and that's coming from a lazy git
Haha, glad I'm not the only lazy person on these threads, despite doing 6 AS levels. I fear a major fail in results coming up.

Hmm, I'm quite optimistic I'm expecting at least As *fingers crossed* What AS's are you taking?

I love maths (at the moment, at least...) so hopefully that aspect of it would be okay

That sounds grim haha! Yeah, I'd get none as FMaths is in your free periods for us which sucks too! I could look into whether I could do it as a fourth but they seem pretty set on it only being available as a 5th option.

Reconsidering my initial enthusiasm for wanting to do it now Especially with revision clashes. It's only our teacher who has told us about it so I guess that's pretty biased in the first place! Thanks for your opinion

I've chosen my A Level options and have chosen to do Further Maths which my sixth form only offers as a fifth option, so I'm taking 5 AS Levels- anyone who has taken 5/ knows anyone who has, is it a lot tougher than taking 4? Would you say there is a significant difference?! Thanks
It all depends on the subjects. Traditional subjects will normally require a lot more work than soft subjects e.g. business studies

As much as I agree with you, I bet someone taking Business is going to neg you It's funny how much of Business Studies can be answered by just taking Economics.

I'm hoping for 6 As, I've already got an A in January, but I reckon I'm on track for AAAAAB. Or even a C. Still, could be worse!

FMaths, Maths, Economics, Physics, History (reconsidering this one though!)... :K: I know these will require more work, which is why I'm pretty worried about it.

What did you get an A in? and what do you think you're going to mess up (the B/C)?
And come on, spill the beans on your subjects

Well you are right! I am doing Maths, Further maths, Chemistry, physics and BIOLOGY, and to be honest biology takes more than 50% of my time when I am working, which is why I am dropping biology next year.
Is biology really that hard? why is it because there's loads of essays or you just find it difficult?

Also this is what I want to do next year, do you think they are a good combination or is it too much work?

This is a great combination, perfect for Economics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Maths, and probably some other subjects as well.

I did 6 AS levels. Was a challenge, but all you have to do is drag your butt off FB and do your work ^^

How do you fit this in your timetable? I doubt my school would even cater for students taking 6 a-levels
