A clicking shoulder is to do with muscle strength around the area so by improving the strength of the muscles in your arm, shoulders and back you should reduce the clicking. I learnt this from working with a physiotherapy department, I was told that clicking shoulders are nearly never caused by the bone and it is simply the muscles and fluid surrounding the joint hope this helps!

Most clicking is to do with the synovial fluid surrounding the joint, it should be audible but not exactly painful, this is something that everyone can experience and does not mean anything is wrong! The fluid can create air capsules which then explode as you bend or extend your leg and create pressure on it which is where the click sound comes from. You may be able to reduce this by strengthening muscles around the joint. If it is painful you should go and get it checked out as there are a variety of components in your knee that may cause clicking. It just so happens that in the shoulder, it is most likely the fluid rather than an under lying problem.
