I think it should be labelled as its kinda offensive to other religions and atheists who would not like to eat meat killed in the name of a God they don't believe in. Actually in some religions it would be considered that you are committing blasphemy.

tell you what why dont we cut your throat without you having any form of stunning and you tell us if it hurts, it will. why can we do the same to animals.

as a vegetarian i disagree with killing animals at all but if we have to kill them at least stun them first

No matter what way you look at it - the meat you eat came from an animal that was KILLED. If it was stunned/unstunned does it really matter... I'm pretty sure it felt pain as it was shot with a bolt gun initially too...

I understand with other religions it is quite iffy, and they do have a right to know. Though I really don't understand how atheists can complain? If they don't believe in God, then whether the meat is slaughtered in a certain way surely doesn't matter to them. I think it's just for the sake of complaining because they don't like Islam to begin with, and tbh if that is what it is, I'd rather they say it than make up sad excuses.

What are you on about? Nobody said: 'oh I love animals, I hate to slaughter them, oh this chicken wing taste so nice'. People are taking the valid stance of eating meat, but wanting the way the animal is killed to be as humane as possible.

Pretty sure it's been proven that it's no more painful than 'normal' methods of slaughter. What really pisses me off with these stupid threads are that the OP usually just detests halal in an islamophobic sense rather than in an animal rights one. I'm vegan and see nothing worse about halal and if you truly cared about the animals you wouldn't eat meat.

I doubt companies would give a flying **** whether or not you want a say. For the majority of people, I'd assume they don't really care whether it's halal or not, so for the profit of the companies it's in their best interest to make the meat halal so they get more customers.

Also, in most places, like KFC and some Subways, they will have a certificate that is clearly visible to customers which states if their meat is halal or not. So really, they do advertise where they get their meat from.

Some atheists would be uncomfortable eating something that has been killed in the name of a god they don't believe in. Tbf they should let you know if something has been ritually slaughtered so anyone who disagrees with eating it for whatever reason can avoid it. Its not Muslims fault its not labelled properly though, its food agencies and governments. Muslims may even benefit if it was labelled properly as food they thought they couldn't have they might actually be allowed to have.

This post i like the most he would rather be stunned than have his throat cut?! poor guy well get stunned? and tell us if you like a little tingle in your body before you die! not to mention the internal burns that can be caused whilst electric is being passed through flesh. Well if you seen an animal being slaughtered, which i have! you begin to realize that yes ofcourse bloods going to come out and that's because the constant contraction of muscle's is causing just about all of the blood to come out. there's a reason behind that! i don't know about you but id rather eat meat that's got just about no blood in it rather than one that's been sizzling whilst it was electrocuted and erghh blood and all sorts of impurities in there.

which brings us on to the second point what kind of impurities would lie in an animals blood? its really funny how there's places on the internet that question religious practices but on here all you see mostly is religions such as mine being constantly bombarded with stereotypical and misinformed views.

One of the greatest men in Islam Hazrat Umar R.A, during his time as Amir of the Muslim Ummah ALLOWED other religions to coexist within the community along side Islam. Muslims are not thought to bad mouth other religions and their practices but to respect them and the people following them.

As humane as possible ??? U are eating their flesh!!!! U chew their flesh with your teeth! U killed them because u want to eat them!!!! In whatever way they will feel pain they will be scared !! Are we really that kind or are we just trying to make us feel better when we are eating meat !

Yes, as humane as possible. I want to eat meat, but I would prefer that animals are slaughtered in accordance with modern science and technology - to remove any unnecessary suffering as far as possible. What's so hard to understand about that?

Would I rather an animal was stunned and had a relatively painless death as opposed to just hacking it up with a blunt knife so it takes several minutes to die? Of course!

It's like saying to the USA - 'you can't be for humane methods of execution and still have the death penalty'. So, the USA should just hang, draw and quarter death row prisoners instead of using the lethal injection?
