Re: your favourite finisher?
Messi and Henry somehow made most of their goals, even the simple ones, look beautiful.
I'm slightly biased, but I'm also a big fan of the Alan Shearer approach of: "hit the ball hard and get it on target. The keeper won't save it."Last edited by Stu Laverty; 09-06-2012 at 13:51. -
Re: your favourite finisher?
Hernan Crespo - I don't think I've seen a better finisher. Kind of faded in recent years - and not as prolific as the elite names - but at his peak (Lazio & Parma eras in particular) his array of finishing was outstanding, very beautiful finishes, too. Great finish in that CL final v Liverpool, too, which seems to have been forgotten after that comeback!
Alan Shearer
Samuel Eto'o

Re: your favourite finisher? That's poor reasoning which I was just about to mention -- everyone who has voted Henry has been blinded by style instead of efficiency. Henry's goals ranged from tap-ins to one on ones to mazy dribbles to cool finishes, it's why he's a more complete forward to RVN, however Ruud was the better finisher, one of the best I've seen in my lifetime.(Original post by Manchester United)
The reason I didn't pick Ruud was because he didn't make it look 'elegant' or 'classy', he would often be off-balance or getting pulled, yet still manage to score.
Ole Solskjaer deserves a mention too.
Of the current players, I would say Javier Hernandez is one of the best finishers, which is useful as it's about the only thing he's good at. He does have a weird knack of being in the right place at the right time.
Michael Owen was pretty good too in his pomp.Last edited by Wilfred Little; 13-06-2012 at 06:19. -

Also, it isn't fact that Hernandez just 'appears to be in the right place at the right time', it's due to his movement and reading of the game.
But I stand by my choices;
Higuain > Henry > Benzema > Villa > Gomez -
Re: your favourite finisher?Who's he?(Original post by Solid_Snake7)
Ruud.
Henry.
Del Piero.
Fat Ronaldo.
Villa.
Mark Hughes.
Crespo.
Torres.
Owen.
Drogba.
Eto'o.
Skinny Ronaldo.
Messi.
Higuain.
Ibrahimovic.
Henrik Larsson.
Solskjaer.
I only know 2 Ronaldo's; fat and muscular. Who's the skinny one haha? Are you talking about Ronaldo pre-2005?
*Although I agree with many of your choices, but Higuain has to be in there. Perhaps you haven't watched him a great deal? He plays like 40 minutes every game, but heck, he scores some really top class goals.Last edited by Manchester United; 14-06-2012 at 17:55. -
Re: your favourite finisher?LOL I think if you're going to refer to Gay Ronaldo as 'muscular' Ronaldo then 1) It's gay, and 2) You must know that 'Fat' Ronaldo in fact had a disease.(Original post by Manchester United)

Re: your favourite finisher?Well compared to fat Ronaldo he is skinny tbf, but I take your point he's in good nick. Depends what you define as skinny I guess - but he has bulked up considerably in the last 5 or 6 years. We'll call him lean. Higuain is on my list lol.(Original post by Manchester United)

Re: your favourite finisher?Haha, I define skinny as Peter Crouch lol. Also, feel free to neg me for my blindness haha. I could've swore it didn't say Higuain; but it did. hmm... in that case, your choices are spot on lmao(Original post by Solid_Snake7)

2) How is commenting on somebodies physique an indication of sexual preference?
3) You're deluded.
