Media studies and photography, what a joke. Wish I'd cared more during my youth and had more direction. Oh well, done alright but it would have been easier with proper subjects.

Geography. Teacher turned out to be ****, didn't get anything done and spent most of our lessons watching videos and discussing serial killers.

English Literature. Just found it incredibly long and dull and boring. Also there is no way of knowing what will come up in the exam which makes it extremely hard to revise, and if you interpret the question wrong it could mean you completely mess up a whole question worth 42 marks. Dropped it at AS and lifted a huge weight off my shoulders!

I regret taking maths so, so much. I don't know what I was thinking. If I could do the year over, I would have taken Classical Civilisation.

history! the wurst. maybe it was just how we were taught, we essentially had to re-write the whole textbook then memorise it

Sociology - I can't STAND the subject! Only chose it because I couldn't think of any other subject I really wanted to do! I have so much to remember in order to get the grade I need yet it serves no purpose for my degree.

To be honest, I wish I did Biology instead.
Could I ask why you hate it? Is it the teachers/people in your class/wanting to focus on other subjects more/or do you just generally hate the topics?

I'm just asking because I'm an AS student at the moment (Biology, English lit, Law) and I'm wanting to focus my degree on anthropology (study of people and cultures)- which is kind of similar to sociology (study of society), so I've only just recently considered in the past few weeks that I'll apply for sociology at uni this september. I've never taken sociology before, but the lecturers on the open day explained the modules (people, culture, society related etc.) and it sounded appealing. Do you know many others who hate sociology? I'm trying to get opinions on whether or not it's worth doing a sociology degree

Oh and how does this not serve a purpose to your degree too- what kind of thing are you wanting to do?
