Re: What A Levels do you regret taking?
AS Maths, didnt take it onto A2 I did BTEC Engineering at the same time.
All you have to do in the Maths exams is remember whats written in a text book? How is that learning?
With BTEC Engineering the maths is no where near as well documented. You have to work it out for yourself.
A neg? really.....because you disagree no doubt. Done both have we? No? Thought so.Last edited by Sam Walters; 12-06-2012 at 19:16. -

I got cocky at GCSE, only got an A. -
Physics is awful! It is so boring and hard, I loveddd it at GCSE but hated it at as-level and ended up dropping it before the year ended!(Original post by chelseafan)
Im picking History,Physics,Maths,Economics next year
Any opinions on any of these subjects?
Maths is good though, but you have to keep up with the work and make sure you know how to do everything before you move on to the next topic :-)

Re: What A Levels do you regret taking?I have the best of both, easy AS, (i got 90% UMS doing C1 and C2 in Year 11 and D1 in Jan) C3 i found easy and i got an A* at GCSE doing no work outside of class in year November year 10 :P. Helps that i have a great teacher(Original post by MrBlueMo0n)
I got cocky at GCSE, only got an A. AS maths WAS a walk in the park. I mean, I may not have had my grades back yet, but I know I've got close to 100% in C1 and M1, and around 90% in C2, hopefully.
I guess we have opposite stories...

Re: What A Levels do you regret taking? We don't cheat in the ISAs at my sixth form as the teachers are also very professional about it, but many schools do, including my old school, the teachers have access to mark schemes for it hence they know the answers and the grade boundaries are ridiculously high. Its pretty sickening to deny us to a fair education like that, especially for people who are actually good at science.(Original post by hannahcoroner)
How was there cheating in the ISA? We do chemistry EMPAs and I can definitely see how there could be cheating or help from teachers that goes unreported, fortunately our school were very professional and serious about it. -

I've always hated maths. I dropped it a few weeks ago because doing 4 A2's got too hard; really do what you enjoy

Re: What A Levels do you regret taking?TBH naming was the easy part. The difficult part was remembering all of the reagants and conditions for the reaction, i kept on getting them mixed up.(Original post by naman)

It's hard to memorise everything and I should have started further maths in Y12 not Y13
