Re: Fancy dress for freshersSounds pretty good(Original post by number23)
Do you think this fancy dress pack would be of interest to students/freshers? How much would people be prepared to pay for:
- nerd glasses
- tube of neon paint
- 10 glow sticks
- pirate patch
- hawaiian garland
Thanks
not sure why anyone would need 10 glowsticks though?
What would I pay...Maybe £15 - £20? What you can afford to charge depends on how much it all costs you to produce though?
Edit: I'm trying to be helpful, why the f*** would anyone neg this?!?Last edited by Josh93; 13-06-2012 at 18:18. -

im setting up an ebay fancy dress business. So £15 free delivery sounds good? Any other things you think could be included?

Re: Fancy dress for freshersHave you though about the fact that a person buying this would not be able to wear the nerd glasses and the pirate patch at the same time? What I am trying to say is the items you are offering do not make a complete costume. A geek doesn't wear a hawaiian garland and a pirate with one eye doesn't wear geek glasses. Therefore people would not pay alot of money for it.(Original post by number23)

Re: Fancy dress for freshersYes, but I think they're just meant to complete other outfits you have, rather than be worn together. Like, if you want to go dressed as a nerd you just have to dive into your wardrobe for the clothes and then complete it with the glasses. Then another fancy dress event may come up and you can wear a bikini or something, get a hula skirt, and complete it with the garlands, etc, etc.(Original post by Design_Me_A_Tom)

Re: Fancy dress for freshersOkay, but most of your items can be bought from the poundshop and students can do this when needed. Therefore you have 5 items worth £5 so I don't think you could charge £15 in total, I think £10 with free postage but it depends how much you actually buy your stock for.(Original post by motunrolarulz)

Also you could put this on ebay and only buy the stock if you get any orders, that way you don't lose any money if nobody buys. -
Re: Fancy dress for freshersIt sounds fine to me but you should probably get a better consensus(Original post by number23)

Erm, I'm not really sure how much else you would want to add as the more expensive it becomes the less likely it will be that people will buy it?
Maybe some kind of hat? -

Re: Fancy dress for freshers
I don't buy fancy dress until I know I need it (i.e. when I've got to uni and found out that there is, in fact, a geek night). At that point, I'd just go out and buy the geek glasses / tie etc. - I wouldn't want to buy a pirate's eye patch at the same time.
I think you would be better off selling them individually / in coherant packs (e.g. all pirate accessories). Why not have a look at what existing fancy dress shops are doing on eBay?
