Moving On Summer School at University of Edinburgh?
Just recieved a letter of invite to what is a mini "summer school" at UoE, 3-6 September, the week before freshers. The aim of the whole thing is to give you a bit of a headstart on University studying etc. etc. they say. Eligible are those with an offer of a place to study at Edinburgh, who live in the local area, however those who attended the LEAPS Summer School should not apply apparently.
Here's a bit of the letter itself;
We want to ensure that you have the best start to your university career and therefore would like to invite you yo attend the Moving On Summer School at the University of Edinburgh from 3-6 September 2012, the week before Fresher's Week.
Moving is a free summer school for eligible local students who are about to start their degress at The University of Edinburgh. It will give you the opportunity to:
Develop and hone skills for university study, including taking notes during lectures, participating in tutorials and making a presentation.
Beat the crowds and learn how to find your way around campus, use the University's libraries and computer labs, and learn more about the way the university works, saving you time and worry.
Make friends with other new student, talk to current undergraduates about their experiences of first year and meet the staff who can offer you support throughout the year.
Looks an alright deal, so was wondering if anyone else recieved this and what they think? -
Re: Moving On Summer School at University of Edinburgh?Well I'll probably be working with you in that case seeing as how our courses are pretty similar!(Original post by RobertoStenhausen)
