AS points count towards A2/UCAS?
how does AS work towards the UCAS/UNI conditional offers?
AS points- 40
if the uni says "300 points from three GCE A levels" then can I use the points achieved at AS for one subject and add it to the other three?
also, if they say conditional offer ABB then they definately dont mean points right?Last edited by Ash1234; 09-06-2012 at 15:23. -

A* - 120
A - 100
B - 80
C - 60
D - 40
E -20
As ucas points :
A-50
B-40
C-30
D-20
E-10
Your As points do count towards your ucas ( if you haven't done the A2 in that subject)
e.g if you have done As maths got an A grade then got a B grade at A2 maths then you would get 80 points for that, not 130 (50 + 80).
Offers like ABB ask for A2 grades of ABB nothing to do with points -
Re: AS points count towards A2/UCAS?
thanks for the above!
I know this is not the same/predictable. but in clearing does the course requirements vary i.e. do some ask for grades (BBB) and some ask for points 280?
also, i thought A2 B was worth 100 ucas points? has it changed?Last edited by Ash1234; 09-06-2012 at 15:39. -
Re: AS points count towards A2/UCAS?it depends on the university; some go by points and others go by grades - the same as when applying generally! the majority seem to go by grades from what I've seen though, but don't worry about what they ask for; you'll need the equivalent of grades or points to get in so how it's offered doesn't make a difference(Original post by Ash1234)

Re: AS points count towards A2/UCAS?As long as it is a Proper As level, I haven't heard of it personally, but if it is something like, what my college make everyone who was doing maths take, FAMS which isn't an A-level just some weird qualification, an A was worth 20 points.(Original post by NathanNaza)
Hi there,
Do AS core subjects such as financial studies count towards university UCAS tarrifs.
As I got a B grade for finance so would that be 50 UCAS?
Thanks

Re: AS points count towards A2/UCAS?ifs School of Finance (up to and including 2011 admissions to HE)(Original post by NathanNaza)
I looked at my folder and it's a certificate in financial studies (cefs) by the school of finance
Grade Tariff points
Certificate in Financial Studies* Diploma in Financial Studies UCAS Points
A A 60
B B 50
C C 40
D D 30
E E 20
*Completion of both qualifications will result in a maximum of 120 UCAS Tariff points.
This is straight from the ucas website...so your B is worth 50 Points
the points are
