Girl stabbed in a village close to me?
Here's the story, I met her once or twice around town, but I wouldn't say we were close in any way.

Many of my friends come from Ampthill and now they're worried to go outside, any advice on how it's all going to be fine? Some of them knew her personally, and very well so they're in a sort of shock, but everyone else is on a bit of a downer too.
    Thoughts on what happened?

If they've arrested the guy why are people scared to go outside?

Small village of about 2000 people, murders don't usually happen there.

Most of my friends are there, but I don't live there myself, although I do find myself spending a lot of time there

I'd advise you and your friends not to go out at the current moment in time, albeit, if mandatory travel with 4 or more friends. Do not recklessly gambol at ludicrous times at night, and don't be highly intoxicated at night parties.

This is nothing to me, I've witness stabbings, I've walked past crime scenes, stabbings are so common in London...

So I guess from where I'm standing wtf are you moaning about? But then again it's a small village of about 2000 people, less than the amount of people at my secondary school lmao

"This is nothing to me" - This is nothing to many people from larger towns/cities.

It was one individual person. You should not be scared to go outside if he's been arrested.

You don't know what was wrong with him. He could have an illness or was just looking for trouble.

I come from the local "Big Town", and I've seen stabbings etc.. It's just because it's such a small village that people know people, and it effects them, plus they're not as used to it I guess.

That's silly, statistically in Bedfordshire you are more likely to be a victim of violent crime by people or animals breaking into your home in the middle of the night than on the street, you are much more likely to be attacked by a family member (accidentally or otherwise). You're also more likely to be a victim of arson which if you're inside the house could result in you burning to death horribly.

    feel better buddy? :console:

Thank you, that's made me feel so much better! c: at least I know that I can walk in the street without fear of being stabbed!

Homicide is such an overrated crime. I understand why people from a small village would get edgy if someone is murdered, however you just need to think when the last time someone got murdered. I'm presuming it was over 20 years ago, and there won't be another for at least 10 more years. Your safe to walk the streets even if they have the wrong person. The attacker knew her, and he had a motive for doing so. I'd much rather be scared of my girlfriend killing me than a stranger
