    Living in really big houses
I live in a council flat and we dont have much room.

On the bus going to school i pass these huge houses with like massive gardens round them and big windows and spread out with like probably 8 bedrooms and i dont know maybe 20 rooms or something.

Whats it like living in a house like that, do you get lost in all the rooms? Do people in the family see each other much? Are all the people who live in houses like that who are teenagers really spoilt? If you live in that kind of house, whats it like and what do you think of people who live in little box council flats like us?

My parents own a house of the kind you describe, it has seven bedrooms and 18 rooms altogether. It's different seeing it through your eyes a little bit, I can understand your curiosity. No, we don't get lost, it's not that large. Not like a castle or something, we all find each other just fine. Maybe people who live in large houses do see each other a little less than people who live in smaller ones. If we want our own space, we can find it. I have two sisters and a brother, but we each have our own nice rooms with lots of space, with our own TVs and computers/games, and so on, so I suppose, yes, we are more in our own space.

I don't know the answer to your question about teenagers who live in large houses being spoilt. I suppose because they have more space and possibly comfort than yourself, we might look spoilt to you. I think probably well-off kids in general have more comforts and better facilities than poorer kids, but not in every way all the time - it probably varies from family to family. It will be much more to do with the parents than the type of house.

I have to admit that I don't think a lot about kids living in smaller houses or council blocks. I have done a little and wondered about it. If I see council blocks in London where I live, I do wonder a little what they might be like to live in.

I love our house, it's bright, airy, very comfortable and I feel privileged and it feels pretty nice to be living there.

Do you have loads of comfortable furniturs and stuff, is it great in your bedroom, do you have a really big bed and loads of different duvets and cushions?

We have a pretty large house and when I was about 14 our cleaner's kids came round, they were going round with their mouths open and "wow you're so spoilt" and stuff like that, admiring our rooms and all the things we had. I felt quite scared because I thought they would hit me and steal my stuff. They lived in a Council house and they told me that my bedroom was as big as half their house. I felt quite odd about it, sort of a bit guilty and sneaky because they were jealous but also they were admiring, so I felt a bit superior.

Some of them are going to be toilets, let's face it, few modern homes are without at least one.

Two reception, one large and one small dining, games room, "drawing room" (really just another large room), one large lounge, a room we use as a library, three bathrooms.

I don't want to be big headed but I probably have the biggest home here. I really pity you who have to live in small huts/homes with only 1 dining room.

We're not quite on your scale of luxury, but we have 6 bedrooms and about 10 other rooms. I think OP is mainly just curious about the way rich folk live, not the room count. I assume we are pretty comfortable compared to OP, I've never been in a council flat but presumably they can be fairly cramped? Are some quite large?

Quite a choice, yes. I based my room and bedding designs on this kind of thing, I have very similar duvets and furnishings to this picture.

Well it's not a really huge library, its a sort of long wide corridor stuffed with books, my parents have quite a collection. You can sit on comfy chairs in the middle and read.

Congrats being born to well off parents.
