    Are Ashtrays Dirty?
From a logical point of view, if you clean it out once a day.

Are ashtrays actually dirty? Not the "ew gross" dirty but infested with germs dirty.

Whenever I see someone touch an ashtray I would always remember the times my parents would tell me "don't touch that, its dirty" as a kid.

But thinking about it... The ash would be fairly sterile from the heat? The stuff stuck in the filter is the chemicals from the cig and not anything bacteria infested

Yea that is what I assumed too.

Well it has passed my mind, just to prove to people that they are not bacteria infested death holes. although I reckon it would taste abysmal.

I always assumed they're "dirty" because of the ash getting on your hands rather than dirty because of germs.
