Any Czech/Slovak or EU students planning to go to a Scottish Uni?
Hi!
I´m from the Czech Rep. and will be applying to Scotland next year. Anyone planning the same? It woud be great to share a few thoughts, advice, plans...
I´m not 100% sure about the universities I want to apply to or the subjects yet. I hope I get a place cause I´m already looking forward to Scotland -
Re: Any Czech/Slovak or EU students planning to go to a Scottish Uni?great, what do you want to study?(Original post by greymoon)
I´m going to apply for Scottish unis as well... probably Robert Gordon, Glasgow Caledonian and Queen Margaret.
i wanted to discuss qualifications (school leaving exams). our government made it quite complicated - we choose 2 difficulties of the exams and get the results quite late... how is it in your country?
i also need to pass in german, haha, not my best subject

we also get our final results quite late as well... but I don´t think that will pose a problem. Everyone has to apply for uni before one gets their results... -
Re: Any Czech/Slovak or EU students planning to go to a Scottish Uni?yeah, i´m more worried about what difficulty to choose, but i guess that´s a question for somebody from czech r.(Original post by greymoon)

and are you going with somebody you know or by yourself?
i know two czech girls who study there, but i´m going alone basically. i think it won´t be hard to make some new friends, it´s worth the experience, anyway -
Re: Any Czech/Slovak or EU students planning to go to a Scottish Uni?I go there by myself... that´s a bit scary! But I hope I will make some friends there (which shouldn´t be too difficult). Yes, it´s definitely worth the experience!(Original post by Kate Kaci V.)

Re: Any Czech/Slovak or EU students planning to go to a Scottish Uni?
I got the idea because a girl who studies in aberdeen recommended it to me and I´d want to study there even if I had to pay the fees, or maybe in some other part of the UK. But when we have the option, it´d be stupid to pay...

anyway, since you are from England it doesn´t make any difference to you whether you "pay" for Scottish students or for us...
but I agree it´s a bit unfair and I would also be angry if I were you -

Re: Any Czech/Slovak or EU students planning to go to a Scottish Uni?Luckily in the first two years you could study both economics and history of art if you really wanted to but you might be better to go into economics and then when you have money from that you can dabble in history of art for fun(Original post by Kate Kaci V.)
economics or management with some other subject, not sure yet. I´d love to study economics with history of art at the university of aberdeen, but they are quite unrelated subjects
you? are you applying this year or 2013?
You're welcome. -
Re: Any Czech/Slovak or EU students planning to go to a Scottish Uni?
I'm applying at Computer Games Technology this year, so I will start on September 2013.
I visited the Abertay Dundee university, and the Paisley University of West of Scotland as well.
What I can tell you is that both are very big and good-looking, but I can't tell you anything about Economic or History courses in these two Universities.
If you want, feel free to ask me questions about the city of Dundee, its facilities for the students and Abertay campus related questions.
You can ask me about Paisley as well, or about Glasgow and its surrounding area.
I'm not going to list here all my thoughts, and info I have about them, as it would be very long, so, as I said, feel free to ask me something if you need
.
Cheers! -

Abertay ain`t big. 3 buildings, that`s it. But it`s modern, awesome and subjects you are applying to are best there.
