Stationary waves & Resonance

I was looking through the spec and saw: "Examples of these effects in mechanical systems and stationary wave situations."
I've looked through my book and all it has is how stationary waves are formed and fundamental mode, 2nd harmonic etc. But I can't find anything in relation to forced vibrations and resonance!
Can somebody please give me an idea on what I'm supposed to know about this! Thanks
