    nope. alternate is used because you grip strength is too weak. you will create imbalances.

    overhand without straps until you are alot stronger.

    Don't listen to this guy, almost everyone has to switch to mixed grip eventually and it really doesn't matter when you make the transition. Using mixed grip still trains your grip, it's really not important at all if one hand has a stronger grip than another as that is how most people are anyway, regardless of whether or not they lift. And using mixed grip still trains your grip, saying that it does not really is bullsh!t.

    'everyone' doesnt, because most people dont even train legs let alone deadlift. also just because everyone does something doesnt make it right.

    Who cares if your DOH grip is weak? I've never failed a DL due to mixed grip failing me (can mixed grip rack pull well over my mix grip DL).

    Mixed grip results asymmetry which puts torque on the spine but the closer you have the bar to the shin the less torque is produced ( never minimum) , having said that everyone eventually uses it ( including me)

    whatever, but when you are using straps to row because your forearms are weak as ****, ull know why.

    also most people use the same hand under and same hand over, which creates muscle imbalances.

    use double overhand until it begins to fail. Then get some chalk. When that fails, switch to hook grip. When that fails, alternate/mixed grip. I'm of the opinion mixed grip should be avoided for as long as possible.

    Wow. Just phucking wow. Haven't had a bad bench in ages. I can't think of anything that I could blame it on. I had more carbs this day than the other bench days...what the....huh...feel like ****..........deload to 55kg adding 2kg from there. Never been able to add 2kg a week where I have made bench PRs. Your suggestion?

    Edit: By the way my 5 rep max is 59kg. Calculator says 1rm is 69kg(I doubt this-I believe it is like 64kg). Should I be using 80% of my 1rm (55kg)? This could be the reason why I suck progressing! I started and working too high!

    Okay why is my row the exercise Im progressing the fastest? WHY THE **** CANT MY BENCH PROGRESS LIKE THIS? I started low weight with rows. Could it have been that I started too high for bench??

    You can get away with using a lot more body English with rows than bench... and also, how fast are you gaining weight?

    You are going too heavy on the bench, your reset should be about 6 sessions, 2 sessions is barely a reset at all.

    Ill reset at 50kg adding 2kg every time. I will get past 59!!!!
