Moonrise Kingdom
Whether you think cinema died with Hitchcock or only got good once Michael Bay started blowing up helicopters, this is the place where moving pictures are discussed.

Re: Moonrise KingdomI've seen all his films apart from this one. I'm really looking forward to it. There's just something unique about the humor in this guy's films. I loved all of them apart from Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou .(Original post by paleophelia)
I watched this a couple of weekends ago and I still can't get over how wonderful it was. I have been desperate to go watch it again but I can't afford to go the cinema
Anyway has anybody else seen this? I love Wes Anderson

Re: Moonrise KingdomI saw it last night. I really want to see it again! It's now in my top 3 films. I've not seen any other Wes Anderson films, are they all as good with the same style/comedy?(Original post by paleophelia)

Re: Moonrise KingdomYeah they're all as good (in my opinion anyway). You can always tell from the first frame that it's a Wes Anderson film.(Original post by My-My-My)

Re: Moonrise Kingdom
I originally saw Fantastic Mr. Fox and The Life Aquatic, without knowing who directed them, so when I realised it was the same guy, I tried Rushmore and The Darjeeling Limited. I was so excited when I heard about Moonrise! It was the first time I had seen a Wes Anderson film in the cinema too. As soon as I walked out, I wanted to see it again, so I'm waiting for the DVD.
I think it had flaws, which is unlike his others, but in general it had a sheer brilliance to it, so it's my new favourite.
I've noticed Wes Anderson's stuff is like marmite, you either love it or you hate it.Last edited by cleverslacker; 23-06-2012 at 10:46. -

That's the one I need to see, also his shorts, it does seem I won't enjoy it as much.
I think Moonrise Kingdom is my favourite. -

I loved Moonrise Kingdom! It's become my second favorite Wes Anderson film.

I wonder when the DVD release will be...I am so impatient.
I've not noticed that, but then again I haven't had many other opinions on his stuff which is a shame.
