Geography/Psychology vs. Maths A-level
Hello,
I just finished my GCSE's and I hope to pursue a career in medicine (go onto further education at a Russel Group Uni etc.)
I have picked Bio, Chem, and Physics and Maths. However I regret picking maths, even though I got an A* at GCSE , I dont really enjoy it and when i looked at the course overview i felt sick lol. And I feel that combination of subjects is 'boring'
So i havent taken geography/psychology at GCSE. which should i take depending on how easy/valued it is ?
Thank You !

Re: Geography/Psychology vs. Maths A-levelI would say if you REALLY do not want to do Maths then pick Geography.(Original post by tinyruby)

It is a more reputable subject than Psychology IMO. -
Re: Geography/Psychology vs. Maths A-levelI did Geography and Maths at A level and I would say Geography was pretty challenging due to the sheer amount of content you need to learn. You may find it more difficult without prior GCSE knowledge because a lot of that is built on at A level. I don't think you should discount maths purely on the basis of the course overview looking bad because with Maths it really just comes down to practice. In terms of which is valued more, Geography/Psychology are seen as equals in the eyes of admission tutors when it comes to applying for medicine.(Original post by tinyruby)

Re: Geography/Psychology vs. Maths A-level
Coming from someone who has done psychology, I wouldn't recommend it unless you want to do something related at uni (would be good for medicine, but I'd rather go for maths in your case imo).
Psychology is a lot of work for not a lot of recognition and I personally found it more challenging than maths, despite being an essay writing person.
