Are there any pull-up/ chinning bars that don't require damaging/ drilling your door?
Ok, so I have been wanting a chin up/ pull-up bar for quite a while now, yet all I can find are things like this:
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Produc...INNING+BAR.htm
However, in one of the reviews, they state that they needed a drill, indicating that you have to use screws or something to nail it to the door. I don't want this because it will ruin my door and I don't want a great big pole every time I walk into a room. So, I am asking, is there an alternative or one that doesn't require a drill, one that extends and fits and is easy to pull down? Thanks. -
Re: Are there any pull-up/ chinning bars that don't require damaging/ drilling your dSo that 'clips' over the frame? My doors aren't strong!(Original post by Spoonforknife)
I got this
Was only £9 with free p&p about a month + ago.
Doesn't damage anything, also works for pushups, dips, chin ups, sit ups etc -
Re: Are there any pull-up/ chinning bars that don't require damaging/ drilling your dYou'd be surprised. I have a bar similar to the one listed and they're pretty damn sturdy. Failing that, get one that has additional support that is shaped more like a right angle so that your weight is being exerted forwards onto the descending sides of the doorframe as opposed to purely on the 1cm lip at the top.(Original post by Jsee)

Re: Are there any pull-up/ chinning bars that don't require damaging/ drilling your dthe frames are though(Original post by Jsee)

Re: Are there any pull-up/ chinning bars that don't require damaging/ drilling your dNope! That's exactly why I am looking into these. I have 4 square walls on the outside. No rafters, nothing!(Original post by NB_ide)
Think hard about anywhere else you could install one. Got a shed or garage? An outside wall? Any exposed rafters somewhere in the house where you can sling a rope over to hold a bar? -
Re: Are there any pull-up/ chinning bars that don't require damaging/ drilling your dMine aren't, you can fit your fingertips behind them and the wall and they creak haha!(Original post by sconter)
the frames are though -
Re: Are there any pull-up/ chinning bars that don't require damaging/ drilling your dtrying to comprehend this is blowing my mind, seriously, can u draw it in ms paint? i dont know what u mean.(Original post by Jsee)

still probably strong tho -
Re: Are there any pull-up/ chinning bars that don't require damaging/ drilling your dI'm on Mac. What I mean is I have the white frames, they aren't attached directly to the wall at the top, they have a gap. Above the door space I can feel a gap.(Original post by sconter)

Re: Are there any pull-up/ chinning bars that don't require damaging/ drilling your dTechnically, no. The force you exert when you do the chinups etc is pressed AGAINST the door frame. The whole load doesn't just go onto the top of the frame. Trust me, it's exceptionally strong. The door frames in the house aren't the strongest but it's designed to be safe and work well.(Original post by Jsee)

Re: Are there any pull-up/ chinning bars that don't require damaging/ drilling your d
I have one that doesn't even require screws .. not a single one.
You just align in and you just turn the part where you're supposed to hold it in a clockwise rotation, both ends start to become longer until it's firm onto the two sides. I personally thought it was a stupid/bad idea but to be honest I'm about 15 stone and use it. -
Re: Are there any pull-up/ chinning bars that don't require damaging/ drilling your dWhat is it called?(Original post by hamza7)
