Need help with my acer aspire 5742 asap
my laptop just crashed and is refusing to operate normally. saying "no bootable device, insert boot disk and press any key. MEDIA TEST FAILURE, CHECK CABLE", before this the screen suddennly went blue and all i could read before it shut down was "crash dump". It seems impossible to put on anymore. Pls help as soon as possible, got a presentation tomorrow and all the data i need is on it. Thanks

It seems your laptop has experienced a 'stop error', otherwise known as the blue screen of death.

while this can be caused by a number of things such as overheating hardware, but seeing as it won't boot from your hard disk, you've probably experienced a hard drive failure.

If you have important data on that laptop DO NOT continually reset the laptop in the hope that it might work.

if the hard disks are damaged, you will most likely just make the data unrecoverable if you do.

Take your laptop to your supplier if the warranty is still valid, or a laptop repair shop.

if you want to recover your data, seek a hard disk data recovery company.
