If you really like maths but don't want to do it to A2 you could try to do AS further maths with the further maths support programme (online lesson do the exams at your school). That's how I've done further maths this year and it's so helpful. I found Psychology really enjoyable and it could be good if you like sciences (Oxford may not think it's as good as ecomonics though i'm not too sure).

Oxbridge's average entry tariff is far beyond that of all other universities, at around 580 points. The norm is definitely to do 4 A2's, but it doesn't impact your application much. All I'm saying is doing 4 in order to take the subjects you enjoy is definitely done by a large proportion of Oxbridge students.
Keeping in mind 39 IB points, for example, is 589 tariff points.

That's just an example to say not to assume that the average entry tariff is calculated from A level tariff points alone - i.e. "most people must take 4 A levels in order to get that high UCAS tariff".

Anyway, it would be interesting to see a statistic of the percentage of A level holding applicants with 4 A levels, and how many apply with different qualifications. Have not yet found such thing. :/

Psychology for Medicine: get an exploration of cognition, biological psychology - neural substrates, nervous system, etc., psychopathology, in just AS.

It's more related than Economics, that's for sure; and it goes well with Biology.

I would say do all four two A2: Maths, F Maths, Chemistry, Biology, since you love maths and are good at it, you wouldn't struggle as much as the workload would be less than say doing maths and another subject. That way you'll be able to do both maths or biology at uni.

I've just finished AS Psychology. It's a good subject but the only thing I don't like about it for me personally is that there was a lot of memorising to do rather than application like my other subject but still it was good. My examining board was OCR and there were two papers. Psychological investigations which is to do with how to carry out experiments/correlations/self-reports/observations. The other paper was core studies where you had to memorise 15 core studies in depth.
