I'm studying Ba in Contemparory Media Practise
I've just completed HNC in media production level 4 and awaiting results
The interview was a little ruthless in my opinion, I watched as person after person came out shaking their heads :| no joke. First we were split into groups of around 6 then watched each others films then had to critic them. Then we had a one to one interview. The tutor challenged my knowledge of films and what I wanted to do in life, also asking me to rank my work against the others I'd seen and how I would have improved the other films. I was offered a place and the reason why I firmed them is the very fact that they challenged me and in a short space of time showed me how I could improve. :P

Re: HarrowI'm going into my second year on TV.. I done quite academic A-Levels compared to everyone on the course (History, Philosophy, Film Studies and AS Media). Pretty much all of the really good people on the course done BTEC Media, it just means that you'll have a lot more hands on practical experience when you start than the A-Level kids that have only done a crap trailer or something.(Original post by 212sims95)
Random question but I really want to study television production next year, what a levels/btecs did you do? Also what is the interviewing process like?
Either way if you get the grades, you get the grades.
The interview my year and this year so I've been told is a group interview with the course leaders. My year they asked our opinions on documentary ethics and what our favourites are and why, what part of production we'd like to get into and why, what we've done in the past and what we learnt about it. There's about 15 people in the interview so you kind of have to fight a bit to stand out.
Good luck! -

BA Journalism over here!
I'm really excited and I'm getting all hyped up, I can't wait to meet some of my fellow media students! I studied Media, Film and English lit. and lang. at my 6th form and even though I'm doing journalism, Film is still in my heart.
I can't wait to make friends with some Film Production/Media students. -
