There are courses that teach Sage. I've done it as part of my Business Diploma. It's pretty difficult for some people, but easy for others.

Look for one at your local college on 'Bookkeeping' or 'Computer Applications in Accounting' or something

    Hey

We use Sage at TSR and I know one of my team bought the Sage 50 CD Rom to get her head around the functionality as she hadn't work with Sage for sometime.

You can see the details and if you wish buy the disk here http://shop.sage.co.uk/accountscdrom.aspx

Im not sure this will give you the depth your looking for but if you want to understand the fundamental setup etc then it may be useful?

Perhaps this is a cheap start to learning Sage and you can take it on from there.

If you find your struggling PM me and I will see if I can help at all.

Our use of Sage isn't massively complex but one of my team has been doing a fair bit of getting up to speed since show joined.

Happy to try and assist if we can

I will have a search round for literature too though and respond if I see anything of use.

I remember before I started my job I looked in my library for books on Sage and there were quite a few, but I didn't really look at the in any detail as it was all completely new to me and I didn't really know what I'd be using it for.

We've got the PDF version of the user guide on our system at work, so if you're currently in a role using sage could you ask if there is a manual knocking around somewhere?

What kinds of things do you use it for?

I want to understand the in's and outs of the system, as I've just got the job, the business is in a state, debtors are not paying, creditors have been paid but it has not be updated, my job mostly is based on invoicing, chasing debts and paying suppliers and I'm currently doing a stock take as the business has never had one! I really want to cover the whole finance side of the business, the business does not really know where they stand, as the figures are incorrect.

this is why i want to understand the accounts inside out and manage the finance side of the business.

For my AAT course we use a book called Computerised Accounting with goes through SAGE. It's made by Osbourne. May be worth looking at that.
