My sixth form states 'formal wear' and when I joined gave us a booklet of the stuff we could and couldn't wear. I would presume if it says formal and not business wear, you should wear what you feel comftable in. Usually I wear a pair of trousers, a nice top, cardigan and a comfy pair of shoes. I'm not sure about skirt length as at my school, which is a girls's grammar it states skirt should only be 3 inches above the knee but at the boy's grammar school which is linked whre some of the girls go for some subjects they seem to be stricter about the girl's uniform. Hope this helps

it did! thankyou so much! do you spend alot of time preparing what to wear in the morning? I guess it's easy for me now because its school uniform everyday so i don't have a choice xD
Sometimes, but I try to have an idea the night before of what I want to wear so I don't spend forever in the morning

I wear a suit to my (mixed) school. What I found this year is that people start off wearing blouses, and then realise they don't have to and wear nice t-shirts under their suit jacket to dress it down a bit. As for skirt length, any decent length I think is okay, anything obscene will be picked up on, my skirts tend to be either knee-length or a few inches above the knee.

well ma'me, if youre the kind of girl that loves male attention, short skirt and low top and really tight trousers ect. and theyll be crawling over each other to get a peek, boys in all boy schools are very sexually fustrated. If you want to be less conspicuous id strongly advise to cover up.

our school is formal wear too and we have to wear a smart jacket over a dress or a jacket over a smart blouse and a skirt. i go to a catholic school so they say skirts/dresses should be at least one hand (sideways) above the knee but most girls ignore this rule.

later on this month i'll be going to an induction day for a 6th form i'll hopefully be going to in September , they're really strict and are known for suspending/ sending home for not wearing the right thing . I'm really worried , I don't want to turn up too casual or too smart , any suggestions ?
