Ocr gcse modern world history 12th june
So we're doing 2 papers; paper 1 = USA civil rights & league of nations etc and paper 2 = british depth study [suffragettes etc].
What is each paper out of?
And [i know it changes every year] how many marks on each paper would you have to get for an A*/1/B etc

Paper 1 is out of 75, and it's normally around 60-65 for an A* I believe, not sure of other grades. Paper 2 is out of 50, and I've seen as low as 36, yet as high as 42 for an A* on that one.

High is still not 90% though

Are the grade boundaries the same, despite there being different topics within the exam?

How did everyone find the exam. The source question I had on mine was from the 2010 paper, weird. Thankfully I had gone through all past papers and the mark schemes

My paper was so hard!! The Germany sources were so difficult! We hadn't been taught what Bolshevism was so I didn't know what to write :-/

Depth Study Germany I found quite difficult, but that could just be because I was slightly losing it towards the end of the exam. I just wanted it to be over!

Haha, I thought the Bolshevism question was fine to the extent that I knew that Bolshevism was Communism, but it was still hard to answer. I think I might have not been detailed enough throughout tbh, too much to remember

Yeh, well I didn't know it was Communish so I was ****ed there. I think it's a bit of a cheapshot question really - if they want you to talk about some of the communist revolts then at least refer to them a bit more. Guess it's my fault for not reading around the subject but No one ever told me what Bolshevism even when we were doing the small bits about communism.

I didn't have enough time to check over my work but the Bolshevik question confused me because I didn't think it was entirely relevant to Germany, I wrote about the sparticus revolt and I think that was right but I didn't really like the paper!!

Bolshevism is covered in the Russia depth study of the ocr revision guide, so it's a bit mean of them to put that in there :-/ - hoping so much for low grade boundaries!! How much is it for a/a*?

As people have said the Bolsheviks were communist. I wrote something like it was published in 1919 because at the same time the Spartacists Rising was occurring and they had taken inspiration from the Bolsheviks in the Russian Revolution.
yeah thats a good answer! thats what i did, i talked about the spartacists wanting a full scale communist revolution like the blosheviks and this was a poster maybe done by freikorps or social democratic party as they both despised communsim

its fine guys, if you got the source completely wrong you wont get full marks BUT you will get marks if you back it up with the source to the relevent interpretation. the paper overall was fine. german depth study questions were find except for the church one i just guessed BUT the source questions were mean
