Letter from UCAS regarding exams
I got a letter from ucas on the weekend saying that there may be a chance that my exam entries do not match my application and to send off the letter back to them if the information is correct.
Was wondering did anyone else get this letter cos I was told a lot of the applicants have been sent it?
Thanks -
Re: Letter from UCAS regarding examsI thought it was only me. The letter only shows that i will be retaking a level maths although I am retaking chemistry aswell.I got a letter from ucas on the weekend saying that there may be a chance that my exam entries do not match my application and to send off the letter back to them if the information is correct.
Are you a private candidate reapplying? -
Re: Letter from UCAS regarding examsno im not a private candidate, i applied through my school. I thought it was really odd getting a letter like that so I phoned them up just now and I was told that apparently a lot of people are getting them and its only to make sure that their system has the right information.(Original post by priscil_16)

Re: Letter from UCAS regarding examsby the way we dont have to write down exactly what exams we're doing right?..its just the subject?(Original post by priscil_16)
Thanks, I have corrected it and sent it back. -
Re: Letter from UCAS regarding examsThey will want to know exactly what exam you're doing (exam board, module, specification) because this is the only way the information can actually be used. There's no point UCAS knowing you're doing "maths" as they have no idea what level/exam board that actually is meaning when it comes to getting results from the exam boards they can't link your UCAS application up with your actual exam results because "maths" can mean any number of the 10s of maths exams which have been sat this summer.(Original post by ammad26)

If UCAS have the wrong information it is because you have either submitted it wrong when you applied or you have since entered for additional exams and neglected to tell UCAS (and your universities) about this change to your application. -
Re: Letter from UCAS regarding examsit's actually really wierd cos all my information is correct on there and doesn't require any changes. It's got all the correct exam board and spec information. What I meant was do I have to write each module that I'm doing cos on the letter it just asks for the overall qualification.(Original post by oxymoronic)

Re: Letter from UCAS regarding examsIf everything they have down for you is correct and doesn't require changes, then there's nothing for you to write.(Original post by ammad26)

I haven't seen the letter, but I would imagine in the qualification section they are expecting you to write something like "AQA A level English Language A" as then this will indicate that they need unit 1, 2, 3 and 4 for you. If you're just resitting one module (eg: you're on a gap year) then you would write "unit 3" at the end of this, or whatever unit you were actually doing.
Just knowing you're doing A level English language is not helpful to UCAS at all as they still won't be able to get your results from the exam boards (which is what I assume this letter is for, otherwise there would be no point in sending it) in August. -
Re: Letter from UCAS regarding examsJust specify exam board and subject and make sure your details are correct.(Original post by ammad26)

Re: Letter from UCAS regarding examsI phoned them up asking the same question cos I was doing a psychology resit and a A2 exam..and they said that if its part of one overall qualification then you dont need to write it again. If its gonna give you a seperate qualification then you need to write it down.(Original post by Sockhead)
This summer I have an English resit, biology resit and a biology A2 exam
They have written English fine but out biology down jut once
Do I need to write it down again since I'm doing two biology exams?
Thanks
Hope that makes sense =) -
